Our spreaders are actually rebuilt from the ground up. A lot of so-called rebuilt spreaders consist of two gallons of paint. Our spreaders average over $1000 worth of new parts (the web and quality wood alone are around $600)
Serious buyers can be supplied with a list of NEW parts put into the spreaders shown here or a general list of parts we typically use to rebuild a spreader.
The paint on the metal parts is mostly for "show" and what metal we do paint is typically primed with a rust prohibitive primer, the paint is just to make it look pretty. The wood is painted well though as a preservative.
We use use a tongue and groove #1 grade southern yellow pine or Douglas Fir for the sides. And #2 grade for the flooring.
